Synopsis
A lone female cannibal who feasts on adolescent boys in college football teams. She is a very feisty, strong minded, seductive but vile killer and her charms are often used in luring her victims. Her reasons for such a specific target group remain a mystery throughout the film but her troubled background and her process to cannibalism is revealed in due course of the film. There is one male victim who is spared at a moment by our leading lady and he is the main victim of the movie.
Intended audience are 16 - 24 year old, working class urban living. Our teaser trailer is targeting both male and female audiences.
Feasibilty
Our teaser trailer is going to be filmed in our college studio therefore we will be able to control factors such as lighting which would be harder to control outside. Also the studio can be blacked out to give a feel dark horror effect to the trailer.
In our teaser trailer there are a few props that we would like to use but will have to test out first for safety issues. The main character in our trailer is going to be wearing contact lenses to make her look more scary and interesting. We have to check that the contact lenses contain no ingredients that can irritate or react with our actress’s eyes. Also we will have to test the blood products on the our actors' skin to see if there are any allergic reactions to any of the ingredients in the fake blood.
We are also doing a news report, which will be achieved by the blue screen in the studio. By using the blue screen we will be able to give the effect that real news is actually being broadcast.
Rationale
The unique selling point of this story is the way in which a woman/girl is being used to portray a cannibal. This is breaking some conventions as in most mainstream horror movies the woman is seen as the weaker counterpart. Also the woman does play a very predominant role except for the role of a victim or a detrimental character. To further the point to prey on men only is also breaking another convention of horror movies, to which the film creates a sense of orginiality compared to recent movies that have been released this year. The concept however is similar to some conventions of horror movies such as there being a 'connection' between the victims.
Content
We intend to use many props to try and convey the use of cannibalism in our teaser trailer such as broken fingers to make a necklace which will have blood around them. Blood will also be used on the main characters' skin and the victims.The main character will also be wearing contact lenses to create a scary feel. We will be using the studio for our scenes for example the news room. For the poster there is more props; a table and cloth, pitch fork and knife, a bowl of blood, however some of the blood will be dilluted.
